Detailed Itinerary

Day 1:Start your safari drive to Maji Moto

08:00 – Start your safari. Travel into the land of Maasai to Maji Moto (3-4hrs). Nestled on a hilltop and overlooking vast savannah plains you will meet with the real Maasai tribesman. Afternoon guided nature-walk. Evening camp-fire stories. Optional: > Night game-drive ($15pp); > Maasai manyata visit ($20pp); > Sundowner set-up ($10p/group)

Maji Moto Eco Camp & The Village

The Camp is a small, environmentally-sensitive retreat. Operated by Maasai people from the nearby village of Maji Moto, a stay here will immerse you not only in the intense natural beauty of the Loita Hills, but also in the ancient culture and knowledge of the Maasai. The name ‘Maji Moto’ means ‘Hot Water’, and this refers to the natural hot spring near the camp (1km).

Day 2:Full-day spent with Maasai

Full-day spent with Maasai guide on walking & wildlife-tracking safari round Loita Plains. Visit the local-school and the Maji Moto village centre. Evening Maasai Warrior training; measuring skills in Sisal stick fighting, spear throwing and archery.

Wildlife Tracking and School visit

Encounter the authentic Maasai culture and the beautiful nature of Kenya and experience the rich wildlife on foot. Enjoy the experience of a lifetime, and know that your trip is also helping local children to enjoy the benefits of education by visiting the Local School. Day 3:Travel from Maji Moto to Masai Mara

Say bye to your Maasai friends and drive to the famous Masai Mara National Reserve (2hrs). Afternoon game-drive till evening, following BIG 5 at this World’s Prime-Wild-Reserve, with evening Sundowner drinks served at view-point.

Masai Mara National Reserve

The Masai Mara is one of Africa’s most famous parks. The wildlife viewing is superb throughout the year. The park’s abundant vegetation and regular rainfall supports a huge population of herbivores, in turn attracting many predators. All three big cats are relatively easy to see. The yearly wildebeest migration coming through the park is one of the world’s most amazing wildlife spectacles.

Masai Mara and Wildlife

The Masai Mara is one of the best parks in Africa for seeing big cats. Even leopards are generally relaxed, and their behaviour can easily be observed. Cheetah are often spotted on the open savannah eyeing off their next meal. Of the other Big Five, elephant and buffalo are plentiful, but black rhino is trickier and can only be found in certain areas.
