10-Day Explore Uganda Tour focuses purely on the major National parks of Uganda. Uganda has 10 national parks and 12 wildlife reserves. On this tour you shall visit 5 of the major national parks that’s to say Murchison falls, Kibale Forest, Queen Elizabeth, Bwindi impenetrable and Lake Mburo national park. Among the attraction are the big five mammals, Gorillas and chimpanzees.

Detailed Itinerary :

Day 1:Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park.

After breakfast at 7 am, you will head to Murchison Falls National Park via Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary. Rhinos that got wiped out in the Ugandan wild, are being bred here before re-introduction into the national parks. On arrival at the sanctuary, a guide and armed rangers will take you on either a walking or a vehicle safari to search for the rhinos. Once you have spotted the rhinos, you will stay in their presence for a while before enjoying a bush picnic lunch in the sanctuary’s grounds. After lunch, you will return to your vehicle to complete your transfer to Murchison Falls National Park. On arrival, you will check in at Red Chill Hideaway for your overnight stay.

10-Day Explore Uganda Tour

Day 2:Wildlife Viewing & Boatcruise at Murchison Falls National Park.

This day will be spent on a game drive. We will leave early in the morning and go on a game drive from 8 am to 12 pm. You will see several animals including lions, elephants, leopards, and giraffes. In the afternoon (2 pm to 5 pm), we will go on an impressive launch trip on the Nile up to the falls. This gives you the chance to see hippos, crocodiles, buffaloes, elephants and many different bird species.

Day 3:Transfer To Kibale Forest National Park.

You will have an early morning departure for the journey to Kibale Forest. We will pass close to Lake Albert. On a clear day, the view from the top of the Albert Rift is spectacular. In the afternoon we will arrive at Kibale Forest, falling asleep with the sounds of the tropical rainforest.

Day 4:Chimpanzee Trekking and Swamp Walk

At 8 am, we will start with the 4-hour chimp walk after a pre-briefing. In addition, 10 other primates can be seen. The park is also known for all its butterflies and birds. In the afternoon you will take a walk through the Bigodi Swamp (physical fitness is encouraged).

Day 5:Proceed to Queen Elizabeth National Park(Wildlife Viewing )

You will have an early morning departure for Queen Elizabeth National Park via Fort Portal. We reach Mweya at midday in Queen Elizabeth NP with a stunning, beautiful view over the Kazinga Channel. In the late afternoon, we will go on a game drive to look for the Big Five animals.

Day 6:Game viewing and Boat cruise at Queen Elizabeth National Park.

This day is for a game drive on the plains of Queen Elizabeth. It is home to thousands of Ugandan kobs, lions, elephants, buffalos, hippos, tree-climbing lions, etc. Also on the program, is a two-hour launch trip on the Kazinga Channel where we will see all the animals from the waterside.

Day 7:Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park

In the morning we leave for South of Bwindi. For people who like to walk, the first 14 km is a stunning, beautiful walk along the lakeshore and on the hills. The road takes us through a beautiful landscape called the “Switzerland of Africa”. We pass mountains, hills and lakes with cultivated terraces, tropical rainforest and bamboo forest.

Day 8:Gorilla Trekking

This is the day for the gorilla tracking. At 7.45 am, you will be at the office of the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest for a pre-briefing and at 8.30 am, you will start the trek. After finding the gorillas, you will spend a maximum of 1 hour with them. All visitors are expected back at the starting point by 7 pm. Being physically fit is recommended.

Day 9:Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park(Famous for Zebras)

We will leave early in the morning for Lake Mburo National Park. You will have lunch in the Igongo Cultural Centre in Mbarara before you continue on your trip. Lake Mburo National Park is a smaller, but unique park and the only one in the western part of Uganda with impalas and zebras.

Day 10: Return back to Kampala / Entebbe Airport

You will go for a game walk early in the morning. After a late breakfast, the last part of the journey will bring us back to Kampala or Entebbe airport. We will stop in Masaka for lunch, then continue with a stopover at the equator for a tea/coffee break and to buy souvenirs.
