Queen Elizabeth is the Pearl of Africa’s second largest national park after Murchison Falls; located on the shady side of Rwenzori Mountains in the Western part of the country. The park boasts of its diverse eco-system with dozens of sparkling craters, rolling savanna, forest eco-system, lakes to wetlands. A boat trip along the Kazinga channel exposes you to enormous hippo population, bird life and reptiles plus mammals drinking along the shoreline. Visit the Maramagambo forest reserve or Kyambura gorge for the resident chimpanzees.

Safari highlight

Day 01: Depart Kampala/ Entebbe driving west wards to Queen Elizabeth national park.

Day 02: Game driving and chimpanzee tracking.

Day 03: Launch trip and return to Kampala


Day 01: Depart from Kampala/ Entebbe to Queen Elizabeth-approximately 7hrs drive

After breakfast at your hotel in Kampala or Entebbe, embark on a long drive west of the country to Queen through Ntungamo-Rukungiri entering the park from the southern direction to have amusing sight of the tree climbing lions in the remote but famous part of the park-Ishasha sector. Lunch will be en-route in Mbarara at Agip hotel or Igongo hotel. A stop on our journey at the Equator is worth the time. Dinner and overnight at the lodge, Overnight: Mweya/Jacana safari lodges (luxury) or Park view/ Kingfisher game lodge (mid-range) or Simba safari camp/ Bush lodge (basic), Full Board (FB).

Day 02: Game viewing on a drive and chimpanzee tracking

Breakfast at the lodge and we participate in a morning game experience on a guided drive through to the Kasenyi plains. The expanse of savanna provides excellent spot of countless game including some of the big five. Lookout for buffalo herds, lion pride, elephants and kobs. Bird life includes guinea fowl and many more. Take lunch at the lodge and in the evening, chimp tracking expedition through the forested depths of Kyambura with a display of water birds. Craters at the reserve host Lesser and Great flamingoes. Overnight at the lodge; Meal Plan: Full Board.

Day 03: Launch cruise along Kazinga channel and back to Kampala-about 7hours drive

Start with breakfast, proceed for launch cruise downstream along the Kazinga channel. Relax through the enormous wildlife along the channel including birds such as King fishers, African fish eagle, mammals like hippos and buffaloes plus reptiles lingering along the shoreline. Check-out from the lodge and travel back to Kampala having lunch en-route.
